As an NRI, are you looking for a way to participate in the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra? Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is a sacred pilgrimage where one goes around Mount Kailash and gets to visit the lake Mansarovar intending for spiritual benefit. For those who carry the spirit of India yet reside beyond its borders and for those spiritual seekers from every corner of the globe, the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is desperately waiting for your exploration.
Unlike the Indians and Nepali pilgrims, the Non Resident Indians (NRIs) and other Foreign Nationals require proper planning due to the visa and permit formalities. As the processing of the visa needs to be done after your arrival in Kathmandu (usually takes 2-3 business days; requires extra stay in Kathmandu), the packages for the NRIs are relatively more expensive than for Indian citizens. Our Kailash Mansarovar Yatra packages for NRIs are designed to provide a seamless experience, ensuring all necessary travel documents are arranged properly for you. With multiple travel options, including overland routes, helicopter tours, and Lhasa flight journeys, the NRIs can choose the itinerary that suits their best schedule and comfort level.
How to reach Kailash Mansarovar Yatra?
There are three routes via which the NRIs/Foreigners can reach the Kailash Mansarovar region for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra: Via Kyirong Border, Via Simikot and Via Lhasa.
Via Kyirong Border
This is the most popular route to get to Kailash, which takes around 17 days, including your stay in Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, it takes around 10 days of road travel and 3 days of trekking.
Via Simikot
This route is via the Simikot, accessible by helicopter, which takes around 14 days in total. For this route, pilgrims take a flight to Nepalgunj from Kathmandu, further towards Simikot and a helicopter ride to Hilsa. Once the border is crossed, pilgrims reach the Kailash Mansarovar region from Taklakot, Mansarovar and towards the parikrama.
Via Lhasa
This 17 days journey via Lhasa includes flight, drive and trek. The pilgrims take a flight to Lhasa, drive from Lhasa to Darchen and trek for 3 days to complete the yatra.
