Multiple entry visas for 15 days (US$ 40 or equivalent convertible currency), 30 days (US$ 50) or 90 days (US$ 100) can be obtained from any Nepalese embassy or consulate. You can also get a visa on arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, or at the Immigration Office at the entry points of Nepal.
Tourist visas can be extended for a period of 120 days at the Immigration Department in Kathmandu. However, nationals of the following countries will not get a visa on arrival at the immigration entry points of Nepal: Afghanistan, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iraq, Liberia, Nigeria, Palestine, Somalia, Swaziland, and Zimbabwe. They need to obtain visas from Nepalese embassies or diplomatic missions in their respective countries prior to their arrival in Nepal.
Gratis (Free) Visa for 30 days is available only for nationals of South Asian countries like Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka for the first visit in one visa year (January to December). However, a visa fee is required for its extension beyond 30 days.
Tibetan Visa:
An individual alone cannot apply for the visa. A group visa needs to be applied for a minimum group of 4 through a registered travel agency authorised by Tibet due to the Chinese government rules. It needs to be obtained from the Tibetan government agencies for which Kailash tour operators have direct access and contacts to make your travel experience easier and more convenient.
For Indians
The visa procedures for the Tibetan side are to be completed in Delhi beforehand so that you won't have to wait after you arrive in Nepal. We will require your passport and a digital copy of the passport-size photo for the visa application. You will have to send the required documents to our representatives in Delhi, India, who will apply for the Tibet visa for you. You will have to send the documents at least 1 month prior to the Yatra start date. The further procedure will be arranged after getting confirmation of your tour.
For the NRIS/Foreign Nationals
The group visa and permits will be arranged by the tour operator you will be travelling with, as you won’t be able to apply individually for them. For this, you will need to arrive 4 days earlier in Kathmandu. We will require your passport and a digital copy of the passport-size photo for the visa application.
For Nepali
As for the Nepali citizens, they can provide the documents required 1 month before the yatra. We will require your passport and a digital copy of your passport size photo for the visa application. You can send it via email/Whatsapp or directly visit our office to do so.
